Jun 23

It was fun, memorable and full of surprises. Those were the first three things that came in my mind as I remember the event that had happened last June 11, 2009. A day when we celebrated the birthday of our dear CEO, Mr. Ramon Aseniero.

The memories are still fresh in my mind as we hurriedly took the time to do lettering on the cartolinas, cutted them one by one to form a “HAPPY BIRTHDAY JETT” letters, placed the balloons and of course practiced the Happy Birthday song while he went outside for a few minutes.  When we were rehearsing the song a couple of times, with our choreographed formation, our hearts were pounding - anxious that he might see the preparation we had made. Plus, the people who should be watching if he is coming cracked some jokes - knocking the door, pretended that they were Jett. (Makawerla, Hehehehe...) Our reactions??? We were really like little kids that time.

But there’s more because during the night before the clock hits 12midnight - nightshift people were also confused on what to do. We were caught in a situation where we asked ourselves a couple of times if we will greet him or not. You know the feeling of not being able to greet someone on his special day and he is miles away from his family. I believe Jett was really sad that time because he might be thinking nobody knew that it was his birthday. We pretended like we didn’t know and tried not to spill it till the morning shift people arrived. So deadma to the max talaga, as if normal nights lang. (Charmos!)

And guess what, the situation got more awkward because during wee hours we experienced an internet connection problem. And we thought that it was just a temporary interruption but we were wrong because it lasted for more than 8 hours. Can you imagine that one? We were idle in those hours. (Sa dihang ningcooperate jud ang panahon). What are we going to do? (Help! Hehehehe… )

So with that given situation, we then took the time to pass the card and let everyone wrote their birthday greetings - trying not to let Jett noticed the things that we were doing. Also, we were crossing our fingers that we could get the chance to finally greet and surprise him on that special day of his life. And that was it, when he went outside for a few minutes (relieved).

And as he opened the door, a birthday song finally greeted him and with a loud voice, we all said: Happy Birthday Jett! (chuckles) And a big smile and thank you words came out from him as responses. Then, he said: “picture sa guys, padala nko ni kay Kriss” - (not the exact words really but that was the thought).

You know what was so sweet??? The idea of surprise actually first came from his wife. She secretly sent us money for his birthday. And it also saved Jett’s day because the reason why he went outside was actually to withdraw money but ATM machines were offline. Hehehehe…

Hmmnn…truly a series of events right? A day we will never forget. It was also the first time that he celebrated his birthday here in Davao, with us. To Jett, we did our best to make you smile and surprised you. Belated Happy Birthday again! Continue to be a blessing to everyone! Take care and God bless you always. :)

I was organizing my files in my computer when I found these pictures of ours (Jairo Ladies). We had some picture taking while there was no internet connection that time. Grabbing the opportunity and have to zone out from our work for a while guys, so please understand…heehehe..

Anyway, take a look at the beautiful us - cam whoring with our stuffed toys. (*grin).

from left to right (Yvon, Rose, Aloha, Jhona)

Oh did I say our? I was not even in the picture and I don’t have stuffed toy also in the office. How sad, they only had me as their photographer. (Huhuhuhuhu….)

But seriously, do you think I would allow that? Find it out after the jump.

Last January 26-30, 2009 JairoSolutions team from Davao had a wonderful time when our Chief Officers visited us. Well, who wouldn’t be? It was our first time to see them in person from the past few months/years that we are working  here at JairoSolutions.

And of course, the feeling is really different when you finally see the person whom you used to talk virtually most especially to Ramon Aseniero, our CEO and Technical Project Manager. Honestly, I was even like in a “star struck” seeing him. Wooooooop!

Together with him we also get to see his wife Marikiriss Aseniero (CFO), mom (Julieta Aseniero - President) and brother (Vicsante Aseniero - former RCSO- Jairo Davao) and his cute son, Miles. They brought home some goodies for us - straight from the US. To name a few - we had chocolates, oreo, starbucks mag, perfumes, and of course coffee. The latter is what nightshift people really love the most - it keeps us alive, awake and kicking during the night. It’s a free flowing of coffee guys! *grin*

What I also love about the said visit was the fact that we didn’t get to see them only but also worked with them. As you may have known, we do online collaboration in doing our tasks/projects so that 5 days were no ordinary days for us.  And it feels good when you’ve able to talk to them (face to face), shoke hands and see them right across, beside or in front you in the office - working. Oh, and they also woke up early in the morning to report for duty at 5am just like us. (Awesome) We hope that they will visit us more often.

More pictures after the jump! Continue reading »

Happy Love Month everyone!

How time flies so fast…doesn’t it? So, do you have a date already on Valentines Day? I hope there is….

Anyway, I just want to share to you this old article from my blog which is just timely for the occasion we will be celebrating this month (I mean in the sense of Dating Advice). It is the 10 reasons why very intelligent men fail with women.

According to David DeAngelo from the Dating Advice Coach, he had been teaching men how to become more successful with women and dating for a several years now and one problem scenario just keeps coming up over and over again that really amazes him which he called The Genius Failure Paradox . This Genius Failure Paradox is the tendency for unusually intelligent men to have very low levels of success with women and dating.

And here are they:

1. They’re wrong, but they can’t or won’t see it or admit it.
2. They’re blind and arrogant.
3. Poor Social Skills.
4. They psych themselves out.
5. They seek only “informational solutions”.
6. They focus on logic instead of emotion.
7. They’re not used to the challenge of the moment.
8. They think that doing nice thing is the smart way.
9. Always needing to be expert.
10. They can’t deal with fears and other emotions.

Wondering why he had said those things? I suggest you better read the full article here.

There was so much to remember on December 20, 2008.

It was our Christmas Party and at the same time despidida/farewell party for Vicsante Aseniero or simply called “Bing”, our former Regional Chief Solution officer.

At around 6:00 in the evening, we went to Buffet Palace - our venue for the party. We satisfied first our enormous appetites with great food such as lechon kawali, fresh salads, kinilaw, chicken pork adobo, shrimps, squids, Halo-halo, mango float, cakes, leche plan and others. Name it! Hmmnn…The money you have paid is really worth it when you are served with these kind of delicious food in an eat all you can resto. Hehehehe..

Afterwards, the party has officially started. We had games and a showcase of talents. Noel, the representative from the trainees was the first presentor. His cute and unique way of entertaining us was really an ice breaker. I don’t know if he really knows how to play the guitar or he knows the tune of the song but we were really entertained. Just the thought of trying to do something when you are not good at…it was so sweet of him. (Oh I just hope I have described it well for the benefit of those who are not present).

Next was the singing prowess of Aloha and her group. It is with no doubt, Aloha is such a performer. It is just so amazing to see a woman plucking a guitar with such a nice voice. I know there are still many out there in the team, they are just shy for now to show such talent. Hehehehee…

The “Love team” had prepared something also. A blooper of one of the famous Filipino soaps/drama the local showbiz industry has produced - “Maging Sino ka Man”. Remember the scene where JB says, “I never said that I love you…”. Joie took the role of Sam Milby and I (yours truly) for the role of Anne Curtis with a love triangle to Fritz. It was Joie choosing Fritz over me. Hehehee..(Hope you get the idea)

There was also a special number before “Bing” had to say his parting message and before our exchange gifts. UIC girls (Me, Yvon and Rose) prepared a lip synch of Last Christmas. To be honest, we chose that kind of presentation because we were afraid we might get out of tune if we sing live while dancing. Heheheeeh…

Talking about forwarded emails, here’s one which I’ve found (in the blogosphere) and I believe worth sharing to you guys. It’s not the usual forwarded mails you’ve received that says, “if you will not forward this, something will happen chuva, chuva, chuva…“.

Anyways, here it is. I tell you, it’s witty and funny. And I hope this will made your day. :)

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower 3.5 and jewelry 2.0 applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as
Romance 9.5 and
Personal Attention 6.5,
and then installed undesirable programs such as
NBA 5.0,
NFL 3.0 and
Golf Clubs 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?

Signed,

Desperate.

DEAR DESPERATE,

First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0-program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend
Cooking 3.0 and
Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Good Luck Babe!

I know this post has been long overdue because our Team Building event was actually last October 4-5 and now we are already on the 1st week of November. (Amazing..ness???) But I believe it is still fine (at least), as the cliché goes, “Its better late than never”. We may not be able to immediately translate into words (through blogging) the things that had happened on our team building but the memories remain cherished in our hearts even as time flies by. (Emote…)

Well that’s definitely because it was our first team building. It was an anticipated and long-planned event of the Admin for JairoSolutions’ employees to be able to not only enjoy each others’ company (outside office) but at the same time build an organizational development through teambuilding.

It was pursued through self-assessment and group-dynamic games that started even before the said day came. We were grouped into three by our HR officer and were given tasks to do marketing for our assigned meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner) on a limited time with money to budget. The preparation itself was a group effort already. Not to mention the planning of what food to cook, bringing of utensils and the designation of other tasks for our two-day stay at La Rouse, a place located in Talomo and exclusively reserved only for us.

Just want to share this nice article found by Diane (one of JairoSolutions’ programmers). It is a joke about the different Project Managers. He is a bit shy to write this on our blog that’s why I’m doing it for him. Hehehehee..

Anyways, here it is: Have fun!

If you get in my way, I’ll kill you! — ideal project manager

If you get in my way, you’ll kill me! — somewhat less than ideal project manager

If I get in my way, I’ll kill you! — somewhat misguided project manager

If I get in your way, I’ll kill you! — A tough project manager

If get kill in will way I you. — dyslexic, functionally illiterate project manager

I am the way! Kill me if you can! — messianic project manager

Get away, I’ll kill us all! — suicidal project manager

If you kill me, I’ll get in your way. — thoughtful but ineffective project manager

If I kill you I’ll get in your way. — project manager who has trouble dealing with the obvious

If you get in my way, I’m gonna break you arm. — project manager from New York

I am quite confident that there is nothing in the way, so no one will get killed. — project manager who is about to get in big trouble.

If you kill me, so what? If you get in my way, who cares? — weak, uninspired, lackluster project manager

If I kill myself, you’ll get your way. — pragmatic project manager

Kill me, it’s the only way. — every project manager to date.

Source

Hehehehee..it’s all about killing and all that stuff. Does any of the following apply to the Project Manager you have in your company? I just hope none. Hehehee..

But seriously, becoming one is not an easy job. It entails a lot of skills, knowledge and so many other things that’s why only a few fit in. Just imagine putting yourself in their shoes, do you think you can handle everything? How about appearing like a duck on the surface but paddling like crazy under the water? (quoted it here) Hehehehe…
